Our ‘Bama holdalls were really popular last year, it is the ideal bag for weekends away or a full week, if you are a light packer. The chap that makes these for us says that if you can’t get your gear for a week away in here, then you shouldn’t be going away. Obviously he doesn’t have the constant Air Force One, Wallabee, New Balance 991 conundrum that I have.
Anyways, these bags are made by the best and probably last, rucksack makers in the UK, the detail that go into each and every one is a bit mind boggling. The bags are made from 1100D ballistic nylon, which means that they are pretty much bomb proof. We have customers that have had this style of back for over 5 years and they still look brand new. The manufacturer we use regularly takes in bags for slight repair that have been in use for well over 20 years. The seams are reinforced so can be packed to the brim without it breaking.
The bag comes with two end handles for gripping when running off the train / running to the discount cheese aisle, a main top handle for nonchalant carrying as seen in the main image, a zipped pocket at the front for travel documents / sweets, a shoulder strap for when you need your hands free to mime to locals that you are lost and finally a main 25L compartment.
The fabric is waterproof, but don’t chuck it in a lake in a brash attempt to use it as a flotation device as all you get is soggy clothes and a pang of embarrassment. Go on, jump in (and buy one, not a river).
